IIT Delhi Biotechnology is one of the many programs offered at this institution. The Department of Biochemical Engineering & Biotechnology (DBEB), IIT Delhi offers Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programs. The Undergraduate course offered is B.Tech and the Postgraduate courses include M.Tech in Biochemical Engineering and Biotechnology and M.S. (Research) in Biochemical Engineering and Biotechnology. The IIT Delhi Biotechnology department also offers Pre Ph.D. Courses.

The Department of Biochemical Engineering & Biotechnology, IIT Delhi has done much in the advancement of biochemical engineering discipline in India. Biochemical engineers and biotechnologists play a significant role in industrial development of biotechnology related processes and products.
Currently the Department offers a model for an integrated approach towards education and research as well as development of a range of bioprocesses.
Department of Biochemical Engineering & Biotechnology Objective
To train students and develop skills in biochemical engineering and biotechnology at the Postgraduate and Ph.D. levels.
Carry out research and development of different microbial and enzyme system and develop an understanding of biological / biochemical phenomena underlying such systems.
Another objective is engineering analysis and optimal design of several biological processes and systems.
The department also aims to transfer knowledge by conducting symposia, seminars and short-term refresher courses at the national and international levels.
The biochemical engineering and biotechnology department, IIT Delhi also aims to take on industrial consultancy jobs in order to resolve the specific problems of bioprocess industries.
