Features of Army Schools in India
Most of the Army Schools in India are affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). While some army schools are fully residential, there are others that cater to both day scholars as well as boarders.
The Army Schools in India function under the aegis of Ministry of Defense. At the plus 2 level, students can opt for any of three streams, namely Humanities, Science and Commerce. The medium of education at these schools is generally English. Army Welfare Education Society administers 116 Army Schools and Army Public Schools in India. There are more than one lakh students studying in the different Army Schools across the country.
